A watch that disappears between dispatch and delivery can leave buyer and seller pointing at each other. Keep the discussion factual and work through the marketplace, payment provider, carrier, and insurer processes that apply to the transaction.
Preserve the transaction record
Save the listing, messages, invoice, payment record, shipping label, tracking history, and delivery confirmation. Keep packaging and take photos before opening a damaged parcel, if it is safe and practical. Do not edit or delete the original records.
Match the shipped item to the listing
The seller should retain photographs and documents tying the shipped watch to its serial. The buyer should compare the delivered item with the listing and documents before confirming receipt where the platform allows. If the serial differs, document it and contact the platform promptly.
Use the formal claim channels
Open the carrier's investigation through its official process and meet any stated deadlines. Notify the marketplace and payment provider if the sale took place there. Ask an insurer which evidence is required; rules depend on the contract.
A serial status search can check for a recorded theft report, but it cannot establish whether a parcel was lost or who is responsible. If the watch is suspected stolen, share the evidence with the relevant authority instead of threatening the other party.
Check the Delivered Watch
If you have the physical watch, verify its serial against the sale documents before closing the dispute.
