A serial search performed before shipment applies to the number you entered, not automatically to whatever arrives in the package. Check the delivered watch against the listing and save evidence while the transaction is still open.
Record the delivery
Keep the tracking record, delivery time, and seller messages. If the package looks damaged, photograph it before opening and follow the carrier's claim process. Open it carefully and keep the packaging until you confirm the contents.
Match the watch and serial
Compare the watch with listing photos, including marks or details that distinguish the piece. Read the serial on the actual watch and compare it with the seller's number, invoice, and earlier search. Don't confirm receipt until you have made that comparison.
If anything differs
Photograph the difference and contact the seller and platform through their official channels. Follow the platform's current deadline for an item that differs from the description. If the serial appears in a theft report, preserve the result and ask the service and relevant authorities how to proceed.
A delivered watch can be authentic, counterfeit, misdescribed, or associated with a report; these are separate findings. Keep all transaction records even if the serial matches.
